Brief Info About the Sights

Topkapi Palace

Topkapi Palace is built by the conqueror of the Istanbul, Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1478. Until the Abdulmecid built Dolmabahce Palace, Topkapi Palace is used for ruling the country. The area of the palace is too big (about 80.000 m²). The palace’s importance is never went on. Even sultans moved from the palace, they came to see the sacred relics. Today, Topkapi Palace is visited by a lot of tourists and local people.

Sultans’ Tombs

There are 5 graveyards of the Sultans. These are Sultan II. Selim, Sultan III. Murad, Sultan III. Mehmed, Sultan I. Mustafa, and Sultan Ibrahim. And there are sultans’ sons’ graveyards. You should see the Sultans’ Tombs when you come to the Hagia Sophia.
